Essential Corrosion Protection specializes in corrosion protection engineering services for municipal pipelines and solar power plants. Our staff brings experiences in working with over 150 solar plants located all around the world, and an in-depth understanding of corrosion protection needs in water & wastewater treatment and distribution systems. Our engineering staff includes certified (by AMPP) Cathodic Protection Specialist, Senior Corrosion Technologist, and CP Technician.

A Bit About Us
Principal Engineer Yaofu Zhang started his corrosion protection career by looking into brass corrosion of premise plumbing systems. Mr. Zhang has since managed corrosion protection programs for major municipalities, designed cathodic protection systems for critical transmission mains, and assessed corrosion risks for solar plants in 24 countries.
Mr. Zhang currently serves as the President for Baltimore-Washington Chapter of AMPP. Apart from briefing congressional staffers as expert witness, Mr. Zhang also contributes to AWWA manuals and UL standards. Mr. Zhang is a certified Corrosion Specialist (the highest certification by AMPP, with only 3 certificate holders in Maryland and 123 holders in the US). Mr. Zhang is a registered Professional Engineer in Maryland, Virginia, California, Texas, and the District of Columbia.
